BEKO - a company with tradition and a future

History

In the beginning, there was a man with distinct entrepreneurial courage and trendsetting ideas: Berthold Koch

In a backyard garage in the centre of Düsseldorf, Germany, in  1982  he started his creative work which, still today, decisively determines compressed-air technology throughout the world.

With BEKOMAT, the first electronically level-controlled condensate drain, condensate technology was boosted to another level and a previously insistent problem of compressed-air processing was settled once and for all: the simultaneous and effective condensate discharge.

Behind the product stands BEKO Technologies GMBH, and with it the entrepreneurial vita of a man who brought BEKOMAT to readiness for marketing: Berthold Koch, founder of BEKO Kondensattechnik GmbH, which was the name at that time.

BEKO grew quickly. In  1986 , only four years after the foundation, the move within Düsseldorf into larger premises with the eight employees was on the agenda. Simultaneously, BEKO launched the first product besides BEKOMAT: the ÖWAMAT oil/water separator for the processing of compressed-air condensate. A system which has formed an integral part of the product range right up until today.

The success has proven: visions have become realities which promote entrepreneurial growth. In  1989  , BEKO moved to a new corporate building in Düsseldorf's neighbouring city Neuss, with state-of-the-art equipment. The range of products was expanded by the BEKOSPLIT emulsion splitting plant and, soon afterwards, BEKO was considered to be the leading authority in the field of condensate technology worldwide.

From the  mid-nineties   onwards, the product portfolio was expanded in the direction of compressed-air processing. Compressed-air membrane dryers, adsorption dryers, refrigeration dryers and compressed-air filters were now available in proven top-grade BEKO quality. BEKO demonstrated through innovations that existing technologies could be improved significantly with regard to process reliability and customer benefits. Nowadays, the DRYPOINT M membrane dryers and the DRYPOINT AC HP high-pressure adsorption dryers take leading market positions throughout the world.

Around the year  2000  , the expanded range of products and the global commitment consequently led to a change of the corporate name to BEKO TECHNOLOGIES GMBH.
In  2007  , the product range and the business activities were considerably extended as a result of the share in EVERAIR TECHNOLOGY. A qualitatively top-grade measurement technology to assure production processes, and dryer solutions for high compressed-air volume flows, have opened up new markets to the BEKO group on an international level ever since.

In 2007  , the management and the employees could celebrate the 25th anniversary of BEKO with many international guests. Shortly after that, in autumn, the founder of the company, Berthold Koch, suddenly passed away. Without doubt a human break in the company's history, but which could be mastered in superior style thanks to the enormous vitality of the enterprise.
With the quick appointment of a new management, recruited from longstanding employees and the managing shareholder family, BEKO set a clear signal for its entrepreneurial continuity, strength and independence.

The present

Today, BEKO is internationally accepted and appreciated as the technology leader and competent contact. With more than 270 employees worldwide, three manufacturing plants in Germany, India and the USA, and a customer-orientated sales organisation, the BEKO group is close to the pulse of the market development. The company-owned Education Centre contributes to basic and advanced training of the BEKO employees.

Its innovative strength has made BEKO the pacemaker of compressed-air technology worldwide during recent decades. In interaction with its customers, BEKO will continue to develop new, trend-setting solutions for the compressed-air and compressed-gas technologies. With this, BEKO TECHNOLOGIES also projects the vision of its company founder Berthold Koch into the future: BEKO – innovative and at the highest standards; a company with distinct customer orientation, social commitment and a human profile.
